Product
Cookie listens, reads, and times every step so you can focus on stirring, tasting, and plating.
Imagine this. I have a craving for chocolate chip cookies and I found a recipe that looks perfect. Now, all I need to do is actually find this recipe and scroll and scroll and scroll. And this is frustrating for everybody, but it's where things start to fall apart for people who are visually impaired.
Let me show you what this sounds like with voice over.
"Safari, skip to content. Headings. 36 headings. I'm going to have to scroll through 36 headings to find the instructions and the ingredients. The chip cookie recipe ever. Heading my latest videos. Heading level three. How to make chocolate chip cookies. Make the chocolate chip cookie dough. Heading level portion and roll dough. Heading level for how to freeze cookie dough. Heading level. How to bake frozen dough. Heading level eight. Heading level three until day. Heading level three, just until day. Heading level three, just barely looked on. Heading level three, Patty Leel, March 14, get tickets. K8 BZ 917,157F K7BGFB on 10R ly 2026 03. Voice over off."
This is no fun. And imagine that you have to do this with flour on your hands when you're halfway through the recipe when all you want to know is how much vanilla is in this. And so this is why I built cookie because for someone who cited this is annoying, but for people who find it hard to read, relying on voice over is exhausting. It's not about cooking or baking. It's about fighting the interface.
Welcome to cookie. I'll do the same thing here. I'll find some chocolate chip cookies. I'll save it to my recipes. And now you see that all of the ingredients and instructions are clean. They're structured and exactly where you would expect them to be.
And now I can ask really simple things like, "Hey, Cookie, how much vanilla do I need?" Two teaspoons pure vanilla extract.
Or I can also ask, "Cookie, what's the next step?" Step one, preheat oven to 375° F, 190° C. Line three baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
And I can also ask more complicated questions like, "Cookie, can I substitute something for the vanilla?" You can substitute an equal amount of maple syrup for the vanilla extract. This will give your cookies a slightly different caramel-like flavor.
Cookie isn't about fancy features. It's about being able to cook independently without friction and without fatigue. And it's making cooking fun again.

"Being low vision, I like that I didn't have to really magnify the screen. I could just talk to cookie and it would reply the ingredients or the instructions to me."
"Cookie let me stay immersed in cooking my Thanksgiving meal instead of juggling the recipe, a device, and the food. The hands-free guidance was exactly what I didn't realize I was missing!"
"One of the worst parts of baking is continually having to walk over to my phone or laptop to look at the recipe and scroll up and down to find ingredient measures and then back to the steps of the recipe. Cookie makes it so much easier to have messy hands (and a cleaner apron) because I don't have to fiddle with my phone or laptop!"
"Cookie is a great cooking companion! I love how it converts a long winded blog post into a simple step by step formula that is easy to follow."
